Guest Records 2019
From 2019, all licenced rental properties have to obtain ID records from their guests and submit to the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) within 3 working days of arrival. This is a legal requirement and non-compliance carries a minimum fine of €100. Full information can be found on the SEF website
We are required to record the following details for all non-Portuguese guests:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Place of birth
- Nationality
- Place of Residence
- Country of residence
- Passport Number
- Issuing country
- Date of arrival
- Date of departure
This can either be done by Angie on arrival by taking a photo of your passport and recording the rest of the information on the official form or (our preferred method) for you to scan the ID page of your passports and to forward then to me prior to travelling. For convenience, we shall remind you of this shortly prior to your arrival date.
We shall then complete the documentation and submit the information to the Authorities. We shall not keep any of your information longer than is necessary. We apologise for the inconvenience but it is something we have to do, just as you would if staying in any hotel in Portugal.
Tourist Tax 2020
Additionally, as from 2020, a Tourist Tax is levied on all Adult guests but this is included in our Rates and our Accountants pay this direct on our behalf.
