Guest Records 2019

From 2019, all licenced rental properties have to obtain ID records from their guests and submit to the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) within 3 working days of arrival. This is a legal requirement and non-compliance carries a minimum fine of €100. Full information can be found on the SEF website

We are required to record the following details:

This is the first year we have had to comply with these regulations. Angie will show you what has to be done but we believe the simplest way will be for her to take a photo of your passport and record the rest of the information on the official form.

To ensure compliance, we shall then forward this information to our accountant in Tavira who will complete the submission to the Authorities. We shall not keep any of  your information longer than is necessary. We apologise for the inconvenience but it is something we have to do, just as you would if staying in any hotel in Portugal.

Tourist Tax 2020

Additionally, the Authorities will be imposing a Tourist Tax on all Adult guests which we are told will commence at the start of 2020. For simplicity, we have adjusted our rates wef January 2020 and will pay the sum direct.
